So I was in the teachers lounge today at school and CNN was on talking about the Boston incident and one of the teachers made an ignorant comment on how one of the suspects was going to school on a scholarship and how we as tax payers paid for that and how we just need to send “them” back to where they came from. Seriously lady? You’re a teacher. An elementary school teacher at that. I really wanted to say something but I’m not a shit starter so I didn’t. I just don’t understand people with that mentality. America wasn’t founded with “us” or with “them” so what the hell makes you think that statement is okay to say. Seriously. It pissed me off. You’re supposed to help inspire a new generation into thinking with an open mind AND half of the students you teach have parents who have come over from Mexico or India. I’m still ticked off thinking about it.
